About This Campaign
Give Your Fidyah & Kaffarah This Ramadan
Ramadan is a month of mercy, reflection, and returning to Allah. It is also a time when Islam, in its wisdom, provides clear and compassionate ways to make amends through Fidyah and Kaffarah.
These are not punishments, but opportunities: to seek forgiveness, to uphold accountability, and to help those who are struggling to survive.
At Global Family Aid, we help you fulfill these obligations with clarity and ease, ensuring your charity reaches people who truly need it.
Give While This Opportunity Remains
Ramadan is short. Its nights are precious. Fulfill your obligations today, and let your charity reach those who are waiting.
What Is Fidyah?
Fidyah applies to those who are unable to fast due to long-term illness, old age, or medical conditions with no expectation of recovery. In place of fasting, Islam allows a person to feed someone in need for each fast missed.
The Mercy in Fidyah: By giving Fidyah, you are not excluded from the spirit of Ramadan. Instead, your inability to fast becomes a means of feeding another, turning hardship into mercy and compassion. Your Fidyah helps provide meals to families facing hunger, making your obligation a source of relief for others.
How Much to Give:
- $10 per missed fast (feeds one person for one day)
- For a full month (30 days): $300
Who Should Give Fidyah?
• Elderly individuals who cannot fast
• Those with chronic illness preventing fasting
• Pregnant or nursing women (if unable to make up fasts later—consult scholar)
What Is Kaffarah?
Kaffarah is required when a fast in Ramadan is intentionally broken without a valid excuse. It is a serious matter, but Islam opens the door to repentance through meaningful action.
How to Fulfill Kaffarah:
• Fast continuously for 60 days (preferred method), OR
• Feed 60 people in need for each fast broken (if unable to fast 60 days)
The Transformation in Kaffarah: Through Global Family Aid, your Kaffarah is converted into real meals for real people, delivered where hunger is most severe. We act on your behalf, so your atonement becomes life-sustaining support for vulnerable families.
How Much to Give:
- $600 per intentionally broken fast (feeds 60 people)
What Your Charity Becomes
Description: When you give your Fidyah or Kaffarah through Global Family Aid, your charity becomes more than fulfillment. It becomes food for a fasting person, relief for a struggling family, and a reward written for you in a month where every good deed is multiplied. This is giving that fulfills your duty and feeds your Akhirah, at the same time.
