About This Campaign

Break Their Fast. Bring Mercy. The Crisis As the adhan echoes at Maghrib, millions of families should be sitting with loved ones for Iftar. Tables are set. Dates are placed gently on plates. Water is poured. Du'a is whispered. For many, this moment is one of comfort, family, and gratitude. But in places like Gaza and Sudan, many parents are facing a brutal reality: they don't know if there will be food at sunset. As the sun sets, families sit in silence—not around tables, but on cold floors, broken steps, or inside makeshift shelters. Parents look at their children and wonder if food will arrive before the adhan. Mothers quietly divide what little they have. Fathers stare at the door, hoping for relief that may not come. The Numbers In Gaza: The entire 2.1 million population is facing prolonged food shortages, with nearly half a million in catastrophic hunger conditions. (Source: World Health Organization, 2025) In Sudan: The hunger emergency has surged to devastating levels across multiple regions. (Source: IPC Analysis, 2025) The Reality In Gaza, years of siege, destruction, and displacement have reduced once-stable families to dependency. In Sudan, conflict and famine have torn communities apart, leaving millions without consistent access to food. Ramadan fasting, meant to elevate the soul, becomes a crushing test when the body is already weakened by hunger. • Children fast with empty stomachs. • Mothers break their fast with water alone. • Fathers carry silent grief—the pain of not being able to provide even a single meal at sunset. Yet even here, Ramadan still comes. And with it, the obligation to fast. And with it, the hope that Allah has not forgotten them. Why This Is Worship, Not Just "Aid" Allah ﷻ praises those who: "Give food, despite their love for it, to the poor, the orphan, and the captive." — Quran 76:8-9 This verse was revealed about people who fed others while they themselves were in need. It describes hearts that understood true sacrifice—giving not from excess, but from sincerity. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ elevated feeding the fasting to a station of immense spiritual reward. He ﷺ said: "Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like theirs, without it decreasing from their reward in the slightest." — (Sunan al-Tirmidhi - Sahih) In Ramadan, when deeds are multiplied and mercy descends, this promise becomes a doorway to reward beyond calculation. Our Promise This Ramadan Global Family Aid established the Iftar Soup Kitchen program to answer this sacred call. Every evening throughout Ramadan, hot, nourishing meals are prepared and distributed to the most vulnerable families in Gaza and Sudan. These meals are not leftovers or scraps. They are prepared with care, intention, and dignity—because hardship does not erase honor. For a child: A warm bowl of soup means strength to continue fasting the next day. For a mother: It means relief from the agony of watching her children go hungry. For you, the donor: It means participating in an act beloved to Allah during His most blessed month. Your Ramadan Impact Imagine standing before Allah on the Day of Judgment, finding thousands of fasting rewards written in your scale—each one from a meal you provided sincerely for His sake. Ramadan is not only about abstaining from food. It is about softening the heart. It is about answering the cries of those who cannot reach you, but whose du'a reaches Allah. When you feed a fasting person, you answer a prayer you may never hear. You become a means through which Allah sends His mercy to the oppressed. This Ramadan, Let Your Charity Arrive at Maghrib Accountability & Updates We will share photo/video updates and distribution reporting throughout Ramadan wherever access and safeguarding allow, so you can see the impact of your iftar gift.
